The Pearl of Baroque, a small beautiful city just 15 minutes by car from Syracuse, 35 minutes by train or 50 minutes by bus. All connections leave from the stations located 50 meters from the hostel. -
MODICA
Modica is a unique baroque town south of Syracuse, a relaxed city where it is possible to spend a day among the wonders of the Sicilian Baroque, tasting the marvellous local specialities and in particular the superb chocolate. -
RAGUSA
Ragusa, and particularly its old town, called Ragusa Ibla, is another delightful Baroque town south of Syracuse, ideal place to spend a day among the wonders of the Sicilian Baroque and gastronomic delights. -
CATANIA
Catania is the capital of a big shopping district. The chaotic everyday life contrasts with the beauty of the main sights of the historic center and of the nice coastal villages of San Giovanni Li Cuti, Aci Castello and Aci Trezza. -
TAORMINA
Lovely touristy town on the eastern side of Etna, can be reached from Siracusa with an hour drive or by train (1 hour and 50 minutes). It can also be reached by bus, but you have to change in Catania. -
PALAZZOLO ACREIDE
Beautiful mountainous hinterland town of Syracuse, characterized by an impressive baroque city center and a delicious food and wine production, with its famous sausages. -
MARZAMEMI AND PORTOPALO
Two delightful fishermen villages south of Vendicari, with an ancient tradition of fishing and tuna processing and an intense summer nightlife. Can be reached only by car/motorbike. -
SCICLI AND ISPICA
Charming baroque cities south of Syracuse, can be easily reached by train (on the route Siracusa-Ragusa-Modica-Noto) or AST bus.
