ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
Among the most important archaeological sites in Italy: the largest Greek theatre in the world, where every year in May and June the Greek tragedies and comedies are represented, the Roman Amphitheatre, the third largest in the world after the Coliseum and the Arena di Verona, Roman tombs of the imperial period, the Altar of Hieron II, nearly 200 meters long, the largest of Magna Graecia, the Latomie, famous and beautiful stone quarries, the Rope Makers Cave and the Ear of Dionysus, famous worldwide for the shape and the incredible acoustics. All these treasures just a few minutes walk from the hostel.-
MUSEUM PAOLO ORSI
The most important archaeological museum in Southern Italy, new, well structured, and with multilingual explanations, just 10 mins walking from the hostel. Here you can admire artifacts dating from the Palaeolithic period to the Greek-Roman era. Not to be missed. -

THE DIONYSIUS EAR
The world famous ear-shaped cave with incredible acoustics. -
LATOMIE
Huge stone quarries used by the Greeks to build temples and fortifications, and for the confinement of the prisoners. -
CORDARI CAVE
The most impressive cave in the Latomia del Paradiso (Paradise Quarry), close to the Dyonisus Ear. -
ROMAN AMPHITEATRE
The third largest Roman amphiteatre in the world, after the Coliseum and The Arena of Verona. -
THE ALTAR OF HIERON II
The largest known sacrificial altar of the greek world. -
TOMB OF ARCHIMEDES
Imposing Greek-Roman necropolis in the heart of town, with a particularly famous tomb. -
SAN GIOVANNI CATACOMBS
A charming underground ancient city with a breathtaking church, open to the visitor with (very informative guided visits), only a few minutes walking from the hostel. -
ROMAN GYMNASIUM
Out of town but very close to the hostel a fascinating monumental complex which was probably dedicated to the worship of eastern gods and to the mysteries. -
TEMPLE OF ZEUS
Only two columns still stand upright as an evidence of a massive sacred complex, and now have become a characteristic element of the skyline of Syracuse and its harbour. -
EURYALUS CASTLE AND DIONYSIAN WALLS
The world's largest and most complete military fortress of the Greek period
